Lunch boxes do have a shelf life. The shelf life of lunch boxes is mainly affected by factors such as its material, frequency of use, cleaning method and storage environment. The shelf life of lunch boxes of different materials is also different:
Plastic lunch box: Usually has a shelf life of 3-5 years. Lunch boxes made of polypropylene (PP) have good high temperature resistance and can last up to 5 years; while lunch boxes made of polycarbonate (PC) are relatively easy to age and are recommended to be replaced within 3 years. Frequent use and improper cleaning will shorten the service life of plastic lunch boxes.
Stainless steel lunch box: Strong corrosion resistance, usually with a shelf life of more than 10 years. However, it should be noted that long-term storage of high-salt or high-acid foods may shorten its service life.
Glass lunch box: High chemical stability, generally no clear shelf life, but the aging of its accessories (such as silicone sealing rings) needs to be checked regularly.
